Our Engagement Story
This past Christmas morning, Alena, David and I were opening presents in our family room. After all of our gifts were unwrapped and opened, David said he had one more gift me for me. He came back a few moments later with a big, cellophane-wrapped gift. I thought he was holding chocolates and flowers and thought it was a cute, last-minute gift. As I sat down to open the present, David started playing one of “our (favorite) songs”. When I opened the gift, it took a moment for me to register that I was staring at a ring and solid piece of milk chocolate decorated with the words: Marry Me. David squeezed my left hand and asked: Will you marry me? And I said: YES!

Our amazing engagement photos were taken by Andrea of Andrea Godfrey Photography. We took our engagement photos in Chicago by The Field Museum and North Avenue Beach. It was such a windy day, but I couldn’t be happier with how our photos turned out. Andrea is so talented and I can’t wait for her to capture our wedding day!
